Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

Updated: Apr 6, 2018

Titus 2: 3-5

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

My Mother-In-Law, taught me a very important lesson. Don't sweat the small stuff. Life is short. I know people say this all the time, but we really need to apply it to every thing that happens in our lives. We cannot get upset about every little thing that really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of our lives. When I get upset about something. I put it on an scale in my mind. How is this going to affect my life, our lives? Does it really hurt anything? Can I let it go or is it just too important, because if you can't let the majority of things go.... you will be a very unhappy person. She was a wise woman!!! Thank you Lord for giving me such a wonderful and compassionate mother in law. I strive to be like her with my children's other halves. You can choose to not like the person that your children have chosen to marry and have an unhealthy realtionship, or you can choose to embrace them and "GENTLY" guide them into the best person, husband or wife, mother or father they can be. This GENTLE guidance is NOT done by nagging. It is done by example!
